Coastal Community Matters, 2026, 23min, commissioned by Tide & Time Bell

Synopsis:

The film was commissioned by Time & Time Bell to document and bring to life their new National Heritage Lottery Project, Coastal Community Matters. 

The project and film celebrate and reinforce connections in local communities, between different parts of the country, between the land and the sea, and between ourselves and our environment.

Taking place at eleven Tide & Time bell sites across the UK, regional leaders recorded older members’ memories of living and working by the sea both past and present. As part of the project intergenerational sessions took place in schools where older community members shared their heritage skills, stories and memories with the children.

A physical trail has been installed at each location where visitors and locals can listen to the oral history recordings via QR Codes providing a rich and precious resource.
